I’ve always been a promoter of education and how technology enables the dissemination of information and media (anything that affects the mind should be free). There is also a growing movement for open source, Creative Commons, and Copyleft (opposite of Copyright). A movie has recently been released available for download titled “Steal This Film” which also addresses the trend towards P2P and digital download (and makes a positive case for it) and worth a download http://www.stealthisfilm.com/. While it may be hard at times to sift through the meaningful stuff from the crud, there are more and more sites that are hosting consciousness-raising and thought provoking content. I have previously mentioned a few such as TED and the Creative Leadership Summit (which are also great networking events). Here are a few more:
http://www.guba.com/watch/3000053112 (important for better understanding the world situation today)
http://freedocumentaries.org (may be showing a bit of my Berkeley roots)
http://webcast.berkeley.edu/courses.php (definitely showing my Berkeley roots)
http://www.edge.org (thought provoking articles and discussions)
With sites like these, why waste time with TV? If you know any other great sites, feel free to send them to me!
